Note: the date of publication of the different parts of Huebner´s work
on European butterflies is unknown to me. Of course, he published his
789 color plates over a longer period of time, but I was not yet able to
establish the dates on which the individual plates have been available
to the public. The work was begun in 1796 with nymphalid butterflies,
but I cannot say when the plates containing the pyralids were published.
Other authors often give the year 1805, therefore I provisionally give
this year here in the synonymy list.
The status of the nominal taxa Nephopteryx indistinctalis Walker, 1863
(described from Brazil), and Botys helvolalis Maassen (in Maasen et
Weymer), 1890 (described from Bolivia) is unclear. They are either
regarded as a separate species, or as synonyms of the present species.
