Distribution
|
Introduced and recorded from several places in Europe. However, this species has previously been confused with Mecistocephalus guildingii
and thus it is likely that some European records of Mecistocephalus
maxillaris may in fact be Mecistocephalus guildingii or even other
introduced species. Thus, special care must be taken when identifying a
specimen of Mecistocephalus.
