Subspecies
No subspecies are recognized. The species shows a cline of lighter to darker specimens
from north to south, and a number of names have been given to these
colour forms. However, the cline is rather continuous without a pattern
of distinct geographical units. I therefore follow here
Laszlo et al. 2007 who do not recognize subspecies and synonymize all described colour forms.
