A few taxa have been regarded as subspecies of the present species; however, the status of these
is very doubtful and therefore I include all of them in the synonymy below. No subspecies are recognized.
Chlorissa cloraria is closely related to the present species and there
is accumulating evidence that these two taxa are in fact identical. I
still list them as two separate species, but this may require revision
as more information becomes available.
