(4) Hyposcotis ambiguata sheljuzhkoi (Schawerda, 1924)
(5) Hyposcotis ambiguata tatrensis (Vojnits, 1969)
(6) Hyposcotis ambiguata viidaleppi (Vojnits, 1975)
The status of these taxa is unclear; they might not be valid

Note: The publication date of Hyposcotis was unclear for a long time,
because the work of Huebner that contains the name has been published in
several installments between 1816 and 1826, and neither the page ranges
of the individual installments nor their issue dates are known. However,
it is now widely accepted that the pages that also contain the
original description of the genus name Hyposcotis were issued in 1825.
Thus, the name Hyposcotis is older than the name Charissa, which was
published in 1826, and therefore has nomenclatural priority. It is here
regarded as the valid name for
the genus.
