(2) Hyposcotis glaucinaria fischeri (Wehrli, 1934)
(3) Hyposcotis glaucinaria intermediaria (Turati, 1919)

The status of these taxa is unclear; many of them might not be valid
subspecies. Only the nominate subspecies occurs in Germany.
Note: Several authors have regarded the taxa sibiriata and supinaria as
subtaxa of the present species; this is not adopted here: Gnophos
sibiriata and Hyposcotis supinaria are separate species that have not
been recorded from Germany
yet.

Note: The publication date of Hyposcotis was unclear for a long time,
because the work of Huebner that contains the name has been published in
several installments between 1816 and 1826, and neither the page ranges
of the individual installments nor their issue dates are known. However,
it is now widely accepted that the pages that also contain the
original description of the genus name Hyposcotis were issued in 1825.
Thus, the name Hyposcotis is older than the name Charissa, which was
published in 1826, and therefore has nomenclatural priority. It is here
regarded as the valid name for
the genus.
